Dr. Donna Abecasís is a researcher at the Emili Sagol Creative Arts Therapies Research Center at the University of Haifa. In Madrid, Dr. Abecasís earned her Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences and a certificate in Music, specializing in the flute. She did her graduate studies in England and received an MSc in Psychology of Music from the University of Keele. Afterward, she studied at the University of Paris and earned a PhD in Cognitive Psychology, focusing on the area of musical cognition. Dr. Abecasís did postdoctoral fellowships at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, at Ben Gurion Unversity in Beersheva, and at Sourasky Medical Center in Tel Aviv. Currently, Dr. Abecasís teaches psychology of music and research methods at the Graduate School of Creative Arts Therapies at the University of Haifa.
